As we are young or old we have many friends, but what is true friendship and companionship? Over winter break, we have some of my mom and dad’s friend’s sons come over to our house, Avibhai, and Darshitbhai. Them come over and seeing the close family connection my parents had with both of them even though they meant for the 1st time was an amazing experience.   While we spent time with them my parents shared stories of how back their friendship went from childhood to college days.  Although they have not met them for several years now the friendship was full of joy and happiness.  This got me thinking what was so special about their friendship.

Growing up we all have had many friends. For me I had many friends throughout Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten, but now I only remember one. Why is it that I only remember one. Was it that I only had one friend, or was it that I only had one true friend?

True friendship is not only being there for the good times, but also being there and supporting them during the bad times. Over winter break, I watched a movie called Sanju, about Sanjay Dutt’s life story. This movie was a great representation of what true friendship is. In the movie, there is also good and bad friendship. One friend got Sanjay Dutt on the wrong habits of life, while the other friend gave up everything he had to support Sanju in his time of needs.  He was instrumental in Sanjay Dutt’s life recovery and in what he is today.   Sometimes we take our parents and family for granted but they are always our best friends, just like Sunil Dutt (His Father) was to Sanju.

Today is a special day as we are celebrate my uncle aunts 25th Anniversary.  Marriage is the best friendship as you have a companion for life.
