A very happy holidays to everyone. As the holidays were passing by, we had the privilege of having some of my parents friends come over for the holidays, Avi and Darshit. Avi was the son of my dad’s childhood friend and Darshit was the son of my Mom’s college classmate. What a coincidence, while I met them for the 1st time and they are 5 to 7 yrs yrs older to me in a matter of a few hours we became close friends and felt like I knew them for such a long time Well this topic deserves a blog of its own which I will cover in the coming days “Friendship Forever”. For now I will like to share with you an amazing experience I had while we visited San Francisco with Avi and Darshit.

We were walking towards Pier 39, when we saw two boys and a kid about my age putting up a show, we stopped to watch. What an amazing act, you would love the small clip I captured below. After the show I asked them what go them into dancing. He explained it very well. He shared that he went to Las Vegas to find an inspiration to earn money, but there he saw people doing drugs, smoking, or drinking. He learnt that Las Vegas was not for him and he came back to San Francisco, with his younger brother who is about my age and they put their entire effort into dancing to earn and honest living. What was most inspiring was that the boy who was only 12 or 13, and his positive attitude towards life.

As we reached Pier 39 they have a stage performance where people from around the world who have some amazing talents get an opportunity to showcase their acts. We witnessed a performer who claims to be one of the 8 people in the world known for his sword swallowing acts. It was astonishing to see his performance and for a moment made me gasp, as he was playing with true danger. At the end of the act I got an opportunity to interact with him and I asked him what inspired him to do such acts. He said people inspire me and I get to have fun while earning an honest living. He further shared as a friendly advice that in life you should keep trying to succeed instead of giving up s you never have any regrets, pursue your passion.

During the drive back, these 2 individuals got me thinking of many things. I am blessed to have the means and the opportunity in my life to achieve something. The honest question I got myself asking was, am I as passionate or hungry as these 2 individuals were to achieve their dreams or do I just take it for granted. Well something for me to surely dwell on more this holiday season. May be this experience is one of the best gifts this Christmas.

I want to wish everyone a happy and inspiring New Year. Thank you for always supporting me and helping me by giving critical advice, feedback and inspiring ideas. I would not be myself without all of you for which I am ever grateful. Have a wonderful Holidays and a very Happy New Year!
